Home Invasion by Monique Povak

Home Invasion was an ok book, but it was slow and boring and the ending is dumb. The boy, Josh, catches the home invader by hitting him in the back of the head with a mop bucket. Who is gonna catch a bad guy by hitting him/her in the head with a pail? Dumb, huh? So if you just need to read a book for an AR test read it, but otherwise don’t waste your time.      -Lacy M.

Kicked Out by Beth Goobie

Kicked Out is a good book. There is nothing really exciting about the book. There is a good story to it. It is about a girl named Dime. She isn’t a horrible child; her parents just don’t know how to handle her so they decide to let her move in with her brother, Darren. He is a quadraplegic and he needs her to cook for him. She hangs out with a crowd called the “headbangers.” They like to listen to their music really loud. She is dating the hottest guy from their group and he, as she says, “has a hot bod and a bike,” which is why she really likes him. But the longer she lives with her brother, he teaches her things and helps her to realize the bike guy is a jerk and her brother helps her discover that her relationship with her parents can be fixed. Even if it doesn’t ever go back to normal, they can have a good relationship.

This is a really good book to read if you don’t like to read, because it is easy to read and it isn’t really long and boring. I read the whole thing in like 2 days.

Welcome

Hello, there and Welcome to our book blog. This is our first attempt at creating a blog where we post reviews and comments by fellow students and the librarian about books from our library. Make suggestions about other books you’d like to see in the library. Feel free to comment on the reviews. If you want to write your own review, see the librarian or Mrs. Shaver for the log-in address and password.

Swimming by Joanna Hershon

Swimming is a novel that deals with just about every aspect you can think of, including murder, family problems, love. It’s pretty suspenseful so if mystery is your cup of tea, you’ll love this one. Romance is involved, too.

Tell No One by Harlan Coben

Tell No One is a suspense/thriller/romance told from a man’s point of view. David is a doctor whose wife was murdered. One day, he starts receiving strange e-mails from an anonymous someone, but he starts to think that they’re from her. It’s a thick book, but it’s so good you’ll speed through it.

Dreamland by Sarah Dessen

Dreamland deals with all types of abuse. It’s about a girl who basically falls for the wrong guy. It’s a really good eye-opener for some so I’ll say it’s definitely a must-read.

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen

This book is really great, too, but it’s hard to explain without giving away the whole thing. Go the the library and read the inside flap.

This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

This Lullaby is about a girl named Remy who doesn’t believe in love. It’s a romance, but it’s not sappy, so read it. It deals with musicians, too, so if you’re into music, then you’ll love this book.

New Moon by Stephanie Meyer

A sequel to Twilight, New Moon is equally as great. I ordered it as soon as I finished Twilight. The third book in the series, Eclipse, won’t be published until October 2007, but I’ll be there to buy it.

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

If you’re a hopeless romantic you’ll love this book. Actually if you’re human you’ll love it. Twilight is a suspense/romance/drama/sci-fi…I don’t want to say too much about it because I can go on and on and eventually I’ll give the whole book away. The reason it’s sci-fi is because it has vampires in it. When I told my friend it had vampires in it she looked at me like I was an idiot, but she read it and soon changed her mind. Just trust me…you’ll ABSOLUTELY love this book!
